Hi, my name is Lenny. Boy, have I had quite an exciting year. I
started in Oklahoma where life was pretty miserable. I lived my
entire 2 years outside on a short chain. I didn’t have any
friends or even fresh food and water. One day, to my surprise, some
nice people came to rescue me. Apparently, Mid-America Bully Breed
Rescue (MABBR) had come to MY rescue! I was happy, but also terrified
because everything was so new and I wasn’t sure where I was
going. People were nice to me and gave me a warm spot to sleep,
fresh food and water, toys, treats, and even walks. Those that were
caring for me were looking for a spot for me to land for a while.
I really needed to go and live with someone in order to become used
to a house. I wanted to be a real housedog!
That is when I met Sean and Kristyn. Apparently, they train dogs
and really cared about my well-being. They felt like they could
tackle some of my issues and I was on board. I started by just getting
more comfortable in their house and well-mannered. Since I came
to their home I have also learned a lot of obedience. I love to
do obedience! In fact, I often cry if I can hear or see them training
another dog and I don’t get to be involved. What a bummer!
So far, I have learned sit, down, stay, leave it, leash walking,
wait, and go to place. My next stop may be Harvard! I can do these
behaviors when they are eating dinner, around other dogs, and when
guests come over.
I have not only learned how to be well mannered in the house and
obtained obedience behaviors, but I am now a social butterfly. I
go with Sean and Kristyn to neighborhood picnics and family functions.
Everyone says how handsome and sweet I am. I am quite the guy! And
did I mention how I love to play with other dogs! There is always
at least one dog to play with at Sean and Kristyn’s house
and I really enjoy every minute of it. I especially love little
dogs, but can hang with the big ones too! I love to crawl on my
belly as they bite me. Sean and Kristyn have some other critters
here too. They have a cat, Sadie. Sadie and I are great buddies,
although she did whack me in the face at our first official introduction.
They have 2 rats that are fairly uninteresting, and then there is
Thomas, a tortoise. I’m not really a big fan of that guy.
He is a little scary and I’m not sure he and I will ever be
friends.
So far things are really looking up for me. I went from rags to
riches in a dog’s eyes. I now know how to behave in a house
and love every part of it. Sean always tells me that my obedience
rocks and that I’m so tolerant of little puppies biting every
inch of me! Kristyn just keeps saying how easy I am to live with
and how friendly I am! They tell me my weaknesses are Thomas (who
likes tortoises anyway?) and car rides (I used to puke, but I’m
getting better!). I guess all in all I would make someone a great
dog. If you think you can offer me a permanent spot to live and
are capable of giving me love, attention, and exercise please tell
the folks at MABBR or Sean and Kristyn so that they can hook us
up!
