| Nicknames: Jussie Lou Who, Gertie Gruntosaurus, Beebers
Justice has found her way back into our program and is available for adoption again.
Justice was rescued along with several other Bull Terriers from a puppy mill situation where she was used to produce litter after litter of pups for profit. She’s learning what it means to be a pet rather than a breeding machine.
She was returned to us because she DOES NOT get along well with cats! She gets along with most other dogs she meets, but good supervision is a must as she gets a little hard mouthed when she plays. She would do best in a household with a male canine companion, but because of her prey drive, no other pets under 20lbs. This petite girl weighs only 33lbs, but she can be a real powerhouse! We also suggest no young children. She’s clownish, inquisitive, clumsy, and pushy like most Bull Terriers. She needs a strong pack leader to give her direction. She walks well on a leash and LOVES to go for rides in the car.
Jussie is shy at first, so it takes a little bit to warm up to new people and surroundings. She needs a patient family who will help her build confidence and socialize her properly in new settings, not force her into uncomfortable surroundings and expect perfection. Once she is comfortable, she is very loving and affectionate and likes to be close to her people.
Justice is fully vetted. She has been spayed and is current on heartworm & flea preventative. She is fully housebroken and crate trained. She does not mind her crate, and as a matter of fact, she seeks refuge there often. Her adopter will need to be aware of her quirks (for one, she bites her toenails!) and be willing to work with her.
As you can see from her photos, she does have some facial scarring. She has had surgery to remove a growth that was left untreated. She has beautiful almond shaped eyes that melt your soul. It doesn’t take long before you look beyond her scars to the sweet girl hiding behind them. She also has some very mild dysplasia and arthritis. She has an Rx for a mild pain reliever for use as needed. Like most people with arthritis, she is worse on cold, rainy/snowy days. Now that the weather is getting warmer, she only takes her meds about every 4 days. As you can see from this short video, it doesn’t slow her down!

I hope to get a new video of her running and hucklebutting in the back yard. Never heard of “hucklebutting”? It’s a term used to describe a crazy, side to side, hopping, spinning dance that seems to be exclusive to the Bull Terrier breed. It’s the craziest thing! They tuck their butts under and run like they don’t have good sense! A good example can be found on www.hucklebutt.com |
