Nicknames: Jay, Happy Jack
About Me: Jack was
found wandering a country road on 4th of July, 2007. A kind person
picked him up and took him to a shelter. MABBR rescued him from
the shelter and he was placed with a great foster home. It didn’t
take long for a family to fall in love with him and adopt him. Unfortunately,
after less than a year with his family, circumstances arose that
wouldn’t allow them to keep Jack and of course MABBR was there
to take him back in and place him with a wonderful foster family.
Jack is a wonderful boy with a lot of love to give. He loves kids
and is always ready to play with one of his new (human) foster brothers.
He hasn’t quite mastered fetch yet but he is quite a pro at
keep away. He has the cutest face, his lower lip sticks out like
a pout and he has the biggest smile I have ever seen. He loves to
cuddle and give kisses. In the short time he has been in his new
foster home he has shown a big heart, a goofy personality and strong
loyalty. He is very smart and knows “sit”, “give
paw”, “go potty”, “go play”, “no”,
“give kisses”, and he comes immediately when he is called.
He is also crate trained, house trained and loves to go for rides
in the car. If his new home has a dog he would probably do best
with a submissive female or a puppy. Although he loves his foster
family, he is ready for a forever family to call his own.
Note From Jack:
My new life literally started off with a bang! I was
found wandering, out in the country on the 4th of July, so that
day will always be even more special to me. For a few months, I
hung out at home with my foster brother Jack. They say that I’m
a carbon copy of him, so that’s why I was called LJ, short
for Little Jack. I was okay with that for a while, but I don’t
want to be known as “Jack’s little brother” forever.
As soon as I turned of age, I told Mom that I wanted to go solo.
I’ll work my way out to California to see new places and meet
new people. Maybe I can play a few gigs along the way. She cried
when I left, but I’m good about keeping in touch. I’ve
only been gone a couple weeks. I haven’t made it far. I’m
stayin’ with these really neat people the next state over.
I think their daughter Ruby has a crush on me! I bet it’s
my eyes. They’re a gorgeous amber/gold color. If you don’t
get the camera just right, I look like I’m radioactive! Her
parents like me too, which is cool. I’m just an easy goin’
dude with a really good attitude. I’m no Eddie Haskell, my
Momma raised me right. I respect other people’s boundaries
and property. I don’t get on the good furniture unless I’m
invited. I’m taking some continuing education classes. I’m
being home schooled by Ruby’s mom. I’m learning “kennel
up”, “do your business”, and “lay down”
amongst other things. I do sometimes get these adolescent bursts
of energy. Come on, who hasn’t run across the hardwood floors,
just to see how far they can slide?
Well, I need to get cleaned up for dinner. I’ll write again
soon.
Peace out,
Jay
My Story: This
adorable little cutie was found wandering the country on the 4th
of July. Thanfkully a nice person picked him up and took him to
the shelter so that he didn't die all alone out in the middle of
nowhere.
Little Jack, was affectionalty named after his foster brother Jack.
They are almost carbon copies of each other in their looks. LJ gets
along excellent with other dogs and is currently learning the ropes
of potty training, and crate training in his foster home. He already
knows sit and is a very well mannered little guy.
He is a social butterfly who knows no stranger. He's a pretty cool
pup. We don't think he'll be waiting for a forever home for very
long!
