Cooper is a victim of mistaken identity and another reminder of how Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) is dangerous to ALL dogs. 

Because he was often mistaken for an APBT in a city that strictly enforces BSL, the owners decided to surrender him to MABBR rather than defend their endlessly loving and loyal dog.

Cooper is a gorgeous 1 year old American Bulldog with an adoring personality and lots of love to give.  This sweetheart is an overgrown puppy in training and sometimes forgets his size.   He is currently working very hard on learning his manners and how to not jump on people when greeting them at the door.  He is also working hard on “holding it” while he is kenneled during the workday.  He has made great progress in the area of potty training and the kennel accidents are tapering off. In the evenings, he rings the bell hanging on the back door to let us know he needs to go outside.  To our endless amusement, he also rings the bell when he sees a rabbit outside that he would like to “meet”. 

Cooper gets along well with other dogs and can match any energy level.  He is endlessly curious about cats, and likes to chase them, so it’s not recommended that he be placed in a home with cats.   

Cooper is eager to please and loves to be with his people.  His most favorite things are snuggling on the couch, going on long walks and runs, getting tummy rubs, eating rawhide bones and giving sloppy kisses. 

Cooper has so much love in him and is looking for a forever family to share it with!
