Tonka needs a sponsor

Meet our newest little non-bully baby Tonka! He is a 5-6 month old male chihuahua who is current on vaccinations and who only weighs 5.3 pounds. His owner moved and left him behind. One of our volunteers rescued him, and now he is safe and sound, ready for a chance at a new and happy life.

Tonka is doing very well on his housebreaking skills- he is 99.7% crate-trained and potty trained- when you take him outside, he knows to go. He lives with other dogs big and small, and even does fine with cats. Because he is so tiny, he will not be allowed into a home with young children. He has A LOT of energy and loves to run laps around the backyard. Because of this, we will be requiring a fully fenced-in secure yard as a condition of his adoption. His foster mom said he is a door bolter- another reason why we are declining homes with little kids.

Tonka's people are teaching him general obedience and are impressed with how smart the little guy is- he can already sit and lie down. He is even learning to walk well on the leash, and especially does great when he is wearing his harness.
