Vinny. It took us a little while to come up with a name for this very shy, quiet and confused boy who found himself at the shelter because his owner left him out in the cold with no food or water. It wasn’t the first time he’d been at the shelter. At first, he was uncomfortable with being touched but he was patient and accepting of being handled even though it clearly made him nervous. He preferred his solitude among the other dogs but was gracious and open to their curiosity and attempts at play. We were instantly drawn to him not only because of his incredible physique and unassuming demeanor but because we knew we could give him exactly what he needed – the chance to know that people could be good to him. He’s been in a foster home for two weeks now and has already blossomed into a delightful goofball. He snorts and grumbles and plays like he’s never played before. This low-to-the-ground, muscle bound meathead with a bad crop job is a diamond in the rough.

He started his heartworm treatment on 2/13/17 so will not be available for another six weeks while we get him through this critical time.
