MABBR returns with 11 Pit Bulls
from Kay County, OK

December 23, 2008 - MABBR volunteers recently returned from Kay County, Oklahoma, where we worked with other animal rescue organizations and local law enforcement to care for 106 pit bulls left for dead in frigid weather. Emaciated and neglected, the heartbreak and cruelty these dogs endured was truly unimaginable and we are extremely grateful to all who helped. While it was too late for many, some of the dogs were saved and are now with rescue organizations throughout the nation.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, foster homes and generous boarding facilities, MABBR was able to take 11 dogs into our program. We will be working hard over the next few months to get them healthy and ready for adoption.

Adding 11 dogs to our program at once is a financial hardship we were not expecting. Your generosity will allow us to provide quality vetting and food, cover boarding expenses, and start training classes. We appreciate your assistance!

Welcome! MABBR was created by a group of bully breed enthusiasts to save these delightful but often misunderstood dogs. Not only does MABBR rescue and find homes for homeless bull breeds such as American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, American Bulldogs, Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Bull Mastiffs, mixed breeds, and other Mollasser-type dogs, MABBR also focuses on education, outreach, and assisting cities with drafting safer and more effective breed-neutral dangerous dog laws.

MABBR's mission is to rescue great bully breed ambassadors and place them for adoption. Candidate MABBR dogs are selected from animal shelters across the Midwest. After evaluation and vetting, dogs are either fostered or boarded until their forever families are found.
