Bailey was found wandering a neighborhood at Lake of the Ozarks on Memorial weekend. She had been out there for several days and  many people tried to get her to come to them with no luck. Our friend’s six yr old son was out exploring and brought her back to the house, no leash or collar, she just came with him. She immediately plopped down on her back so everyone could love on her. Our friend’s medium size dog and our 10 lb dog came out to meet Bailey and she was great with both of them.

Bailey was covered in ticks so we took her to a local vet to check for a microchip and get something for the ticks.  She came out with all of us three times that weekend on our pontoon boat and was completely comfortable. Since then, she will go to anyone and everyone for love and pets. She was obviously raised in a good home and well socialized. We posted her on lost and found but no one claimed her.

So we brought her back to KC and took her to our vet to have nails trimmed (she did perfectly) and have her double checked for a chip. They noticed at that time her stomach looked odd. They did an x-ray and ultrasound and discovered a mass on her spleen.  After discussing the low likelihood of a positive outcome, it was recommended that we euthanize her.  My husband took her in and Bailey proceeded to look into his soul as they waited for the vet. He decided that she deserved a chance even if it was a low one. She had surgery the next day to remove the mass and spleen. The surgery was a success and pathology came back benign. She is fully recovered now and ready to find her furever home.

She rides well in the car (and boat), doesn’t bark much, housebroken and has adjusted well in our apartment. She is a big cuddle bug!  If you are looking for a sweet, fun, outgoing love bug to add to your family Bailey is the girl for you!
