Hey there, I’d like to introduce you to my friend King. King came to us in January and after a long bumpy road, he is finally ready to find his forever home. King spent most of that time in a foster home to gain weight, get healthy and allow his foster family to get to know him in a stress-free environment so they can find the perfect home for him.
Some background information on King: when King was brought in to the shelter, he was unresponsive and emaciated to the point that he was eating non-food items. He had to be hospitalized in intensive care and it was found that he had eaten a corn cob which created a blockage. He has had trouble socializing with strangers and accepting any handling. After all, he is a King so not just any home will work!
He is a spunky guy with lots of personality and ready to greet you with enthusiasm when you return home each day. After the excitement wears off, he’ll be ready to snuggle up for the night and be prepared, he will end up stealing your lap. He is highly treat motivated and sits with ease so continued training will be easy. King is potty trained and kennel trained. He does well with other dogs but, as always, if you have another dog, please bring them along to meet King so we can be sure they get along. King will need a home without cats or young children.
