This dog is a courtesy listing for one of our rescue partners Allen county animal rescue facility. They are a rural animal control shelter near Iola KS. Many dogs are brought to their facility after being found as strays, dumped, surrendered, or brought in by the city. However, because they are in such a rural town, they have a very small pool of adopters and have a hard time finding homes for the dogs in the shelter. Our promise as their rescue partner is that should someone apply through us, we will handle any transportation needed to get the dog to their forever home, we will assist with home visits, dog intros and anything needed to help get these dogs out of the shelter and into loving homes. Abilene is cute as a button and sweet as can be! She’s only 1.5 years old and eager to learn!! She knows basic commands, is cat, dog and kid friendly, and has a million dollar wiggle butt that just can’t be beat! Abilene has been waiting in the shelter a very long time despite being such a good girl!
She is very playful and has a lot of energy so she would do best in an active home! She loves butt scratches and will be a lap dog anytime an opportunity presents itself!
She also knows some basic commands and is food and toy motivated which makes training fun!
